To celebrate the return of Netflix’s hit series, Emily in Paris, we have partnered with Bake Off: The Professionals judge and esteemed pastry chef, Benoit Blin, to create a deliciously stunning collection of ‘haute pâtisseries’ borrowed from the show’s iconic world of high fashion.
The pâtisseries each take inspiration from statement looks throughout the series, including the iconic red dress worn by Emily in the finale of Season 2 and her favourite accessory, the Beret.
Blending high-fashion flair with flavour, the special runway-ready collaboration - launching alongside Season Five on December 18th - incorporates traditional French pastry techniques with delicious fruity St. Dalfour flavours at its core, brought to life through the limited-edition St. Dalfour x Emily in Paris Gift Set.
Created by Benoit Blin, judge on the popular Bake Off: The Professionals, and Chef Pâtissier at the double Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, the chef worked alongside the production team at Emily in Paris to select and reimagine some of the show’s most memorable outfits in edible form.
Ah, St. Dalfour! Building this collection, inspired by Emily in Paris, around their 100% Fruit Spreads was pure joy. I wanted to craft patisseries that burst with flavour, look like art, and capture that je ne sais quoi of Paris: chic, bold, and just a little too good to resist!Benoit Blin
I must confess, the Orange fruit spread is my personal favourite as it's bright, zesty, and beautifully balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. I drew inspiration from Emily’s iconic, colourful wardrobe, pairing her playful outfits with beloved French patisserie classics. The moment I saw that striking red dress, I imagined a delicious Fraisier and that signature beret simply had to be a delicate chouquette. Each creation comes to life with the vibrant colours and flavours of St. Dalfour’s 100% Fruit Spreads.
Each patisserie features a different St. Dalfour Fruit Spread, all of which can be found in the limited-edition St. Dalfour x Emily in Paris Gift Sets. The Gift Set includes a trio of fruit spreads: Strawberry, Orange and Raspberry, with a St. Dalfour Ceramic Serving Spoon in a beautifully branded St. Dalfour x Emily in Paris gift box.
Featured throughout the series, ‘The Beret’ takes inspiration from the Religieuse choux bun and chouquettes, and is topped with an edible beret, paying homage to Emily’s favourite fashion accessory.
Benoit’s creation features a cinnamon sable base topped with a cream cheese mousse, filled with a raspberry jelly made with the Raspberry Fruit Spread and Madeleine sponge. Finished with a dark blueberry glaze and white chocolate garnish, the chouquette is filled with vanilla cream and a tres-chic chocolate beret on top.
Worn in the season finale of Season 2, ‘The Red Dress’ is inspired by the classic French patisserie the Frasier, using flavours of lemon and Strawberry Fruit Spread with decadent strawberry chocolate frills to represent Emily’s red tulle dress, all packaged in a vanilla flavoured whipped ganache.
The Yellow Handbag is inspired by the Zara Mini City Bag that Emily wears in Season 2 of the show. The patisserie is made from a coconut dacquoise and topped with a pineapple compote using Pineapple & Mango Fruit Spread and a passionfruit cremeux. Beautifully packaged in a mango and lime bavaroise mousse and dipped in a yuzu and white chocolate crust.
Finally, ‘The Lunettes de Soleil’, is inspired by Emily’s chic sunglasses collection donned throughout the series, and takes inspiration from the classic French patisserie Lunettes de Roman. A crumbly sable pastry filled with Orange Fruit Spread and covered with icing sugar.
Aspiring pastry chefs can also try their hand at making one of the ‘looks’ at home with the Lunette du Soleil Recipe.
A special edit of the fashion-inspired patisseries will officially launch (and be available to enjoy) at an exclusive screening event on Thursday 18th December at The Institut Français in South Kensington.
Transporting people into their own slice of Emily in Paris, French waiters will serve Benoit’s creations alongside the chance to watch the first episode amongst fans. Spaces are limited, but the free of charge slots can be reserved on Eventbrite.
